PV - Agree with sth


Agree with sth (usually in negatives)

*If you agree with an action or suggestion, you approve of it: You didn’t want to ask anybody whether they agreed with that you were doing. # In his heart he knew they’d agree with his stand.

*To believe that a decision, action or suggestion is correct or right: I don’t agree with hitting children.

*If a particular food or drink does not agree with you, it gives you indigestion: My milk didn’t seem to agree with the baby.
                UPSET = not agree with

*To think that something is morally acceptable: I don’t agree with hunting.

*(linguistics) If a word such as a verb or adjective agrees with a noun or pronoun, it has the correct form for the noun or pronoun, according to whether it is singular or plural, masculine or feminine.

*(old-fashioned) If something agrees with you, it makes you feel healthy and contented: The sea air really agrees with her.
