Air sth out

*To allow fresh air into a room or a building to be filled with fresh air: The rooms had all been cleaned and freshly aired.

*To put a piece of clothing in a place that is warm or has a lot of air; so that it smells clean: I’ve left my sweater outside to air.

*To freshen something up by placing it in the open air; to freshen a room by letting outside air move through it: I’ll have to air out the car. Someone has been smoking in it.
