Advanced Vocabulary - Disobedient and Uncooperative

disobedient adjective
deliberately doing the opposite of what someone in authority has told you to do, or deliberately not obeying rules.


defiant adjective
refusing to obey a person or rule.


lawless adjective
not willing to obey the law, especially by using violence.


unmanageable adjective
used about someone whose behaviour you cannot control or influence.


uncontrollable adjective
someone who is uncontrollable behaves badly and refuses to do what other people tell them.


recalcitrant adjective
(formal) refusing to obey orders.


insubordinate adjective
(formal) not obeying, or not showing respect to, someone who has authority over you.


mutinous adjective
refusing to accept someone else’s authority and obey them.


mutinous adjective
used about people’s behaviour.

disobediently adverb
uncontrollably adverb
